Frustration …

with surgeons and teenage girls had me excessively busy with my hands this week – as I tried to keep my mouth quiet!  Special thanks to my dad, who let me vent about the surgeon.  If you’re not going to listen to your patient, why bother talking to them in the first place?!? … ‘Nough said! …

Almost human … AKA ‘I got sick’– i.e. GINGER VIRUS

WWU: I got sick – at work.  For a minute there, I thought maybe DH was trying to take advantage of my food allergies (umm, poison me! – But ya know, my life insurance policy stinks, and I’m not quite THAT paranoid); so maybe it was … – actual food poisoning; – salad  overdose; –  …

Before it begins …

Let me just take a moment to say ~ regardless of how shameless it is … I love how varied my Etsy shop listings are looking right now.  And – public awareness moment:  We have only 55 days until Christmas … Just sayin’!!! But – here’s where I’ll start to get nutty:  I have 2 …

Slow–but not idle …

Moving ideas and projects along slowly in the studio this week.  I really liked the looks of some of my pendants using different bails/settings, so I had to investigate (so ‘code’ for internet shopping) … And – now feel well stocked, and ready to make more jewelry. I’m also making more ornaments  – because, it …

An experiment and 3 kilns running!

Dog-gone, but it’s hot in the studio tonight.  I’m not complaining, really.  All three kilns hitting 1300-1700 degrees will do that.  In the meantime, while shedding excess water weight, I’m working on some cabs with decals, while my kiln programs are running.  (Can’t wait to open them tomorrow and see how everything faired!)    I …

Pushing forward …

Mixed results in the studio today, but overall – I’m happy.  My irid platters are cooling in the kiln as I type … but that didn’t stop me from catching a quick peak/picture: HaHa!!!  Much better … not perfect, but I like them!  And, I have a mini tray fire-polishing in the little kiln.  We’ll …

Dookey!!!

More experiments going on in the studio.  This one, while not a success on the pleasing color scale … I think its worth playing with ‘boiling glass’ again: Continuing on with the ‘dookey’ theme … WWU: Admitting complaint =‘Seizure’  Discharged diagnosis=CONSTIPATION(!) … This ‘story’ tallies up in the SAVE column for my own particular WIN/LOSS …

It’s the little things …

My new baby kiln arrived – and I love her!  Fired her up last night and drove home the point that I have a new kiln to learn (each kiln has their own heating personalities, preferences, etc.) … DOH!  If I’d been thinking, I wouldn’t have loaded so many pieces, among a few other key …

“Date Night”

The twins have reached another milestone … at least in our school district.  Today marks the 8th grade field trip – to Cedar Point.  This is a pretty old tradition (DH and I both went when we were in 8th grade … umm, CENTURIES ago!)  But it always makes me nervous, the thought of my …

Possessed …

But, you know, in a good way!  Came upon a few inspiring images and caught ‘a fever’.  I’m working on a peacock platter, fused mosaic style.  Here’s the rough lay-out.  Now to decide on the mosaic border – clear irid, pale yellow irid or white iridescent glass … I’m leaning towards the white irid. And …
