The Shop, Empty-Nesters and …

This year’s “When you can’t go to Glass Expo” experiments:  Playing with frits and temperature.  Here are tonight’s tiny tiles ready for the kiln, along with some fired pieces. Meanwhile, DH and I spent a few hours at the shop, working on our displays.  It’s all coming together, and the boutique is full of so …

I love it …

When my plotter and I are in sync!  Working on pendants, night lights, ornaments and bowls … These are weeded and ready to apply.  I have a few ideas for sun-catchers and a mobile – we’ll see. When my kilns are running double time:  Night lights and nite-lights and more … When the count-down begins …

I’ve done it now …

Nothing to do, but … Um, actually there’s lots to do!  I’ll keep you updated as we bump along on this exciting ride of ‘boutique artisan’ partner … And, I’ll let you know what my friendly tax accountant has to say about my latest shenanigans.  But, for now … Holy cow, just … Wow! DH …

As promised – updates …

Studio news – My enamels have arrived.  [Yay!!]  And, I’ve been a little productive – a few photographs taken for upcoming shop listings (like the Hot Air Balloon Spoon Rest!).  I also did some overcooking in the kiln (lots of ‘dog-boning’ on this tapestry dish) … but I like it!; Made a few Psychology symbol …

A few nights of studio playtime

Had a custom request conversation that has me playing in the studio.  First to make a large ‘hot cab’ and then to add a decal/screen printing area within … So, while it’s not in the requested colors – the first trial is working.  I wish I could fully capture the cool reaction around the vanilla …

What a week!

And it’s only Wednesday … Oy Vay!  Woke up from my ‘nap’ on Monday to find my main/house computer dying.  So, I spent most of Tuesday trying to fix it, before accepting probable death and sending it off to the repair store to (hopefully) retrieve several years worth of documents, contacts and photos … DOH!  …

Two days before Christmas … and Still Movin’

… ‘Cuz there’s no choice … And, I wouldn’t have it any other way!  [Deep Breath!]  So, here’s what we’ve got: ‘Twas two days before Christmas and all through the house, all you can hear is the snoring of 9 brand new mice puppies!  Yep, we have babies!  Born on Friday, already growing by leaps …

Moving on …

I am happy to say that I am moving on from my day-walking TNCC re-certification nightmare.  The fact that I passed, got to tell my daughter her mama got an ‘A’, and – you know – get to keep my job … well that part’s all gravy! So, I’m back in my studio, inspectandpalpating the …

Trauma is serious business …. but wine is better!

I understand that trauma is serious – critical even.  But Jeeze-Louise … After spending some 10 hours (starting in the very bright and early [0600] AM) with a few ENA (Emergency Nurse Association)-cloned TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) over-the-top instructors … Yuck!  Just YUCK.   Words like Evil Nazi Arses started to float around in my …
