We did some pulls …

Our first vitrigraph pull of the night … coe96 turquoise: We got some gorgeous cane/murrini.  But – we had a crazy amount left-over in the vit pot … I mean like 1.5-2 inches.  Since I knew I wanted to do another pull, we crash cooled the pot in cold water.  It made a BEAUTIFUL ‘hunk’ …

Cane, cane and more cane

We had a fun vitrigraph cane pull last week.  I finally got around to chopping, photographing and listing …   Then I played around with a couple of mixed bag options … I like it!  I’ll be listing a few in our shop, so keep an eye out! Our coe90 cane selection is growing, and …

Cruisin’ Through Summer …

I’m still playing with my reverse enameling and stamps.  A few more to finish and I will have a major coffin load of spoon rests & dishes.  Tonight’s progress:    I was painting while heating up our vit kiln for this brown/tan pull.  Oops!  Having said that … SOMEONE (DH) was right there with the …

Updates – and studio news …

Our cheap-man’s stromboli (chicken & mushrooms in crescent dough ‘braid’) from the other night is good … The family says it’s a [not-so-healthy] keeper-recipe … Moving on, DH & I had our pull – the ‘feared’ red cane … It worked, and I love it!!! So, now I have my rainbow murrini (not all pictured here) …

Donuts, stacks, cane & squishy faces …

Life is good!  I finished up a few new pendants … I like them!  The mica base is colorful and fun … Plus – I have 6 more in the works!   Meanwhile, I continue with my murrini/cane madness … We did our green pull tonight.  I’ve got our next few stacks cut and ready to …

Oh My Goodness …

I did it again!  Chalk it up to this time of year; a knee-jerk response to a bit of family drama; too many learning opportunities – or just an internet-shopping glass junkie spree … But I got my fix!  MmHmm!!! I watched a reverse enamel painting tutorial … so, I have a fine collection of …

[Whine!] … It’s that time of year!

Glass Expo is this week.  Nope, I still can’t go.  Dangit!  So – I’m staying busy … It’s been several weeks in the making, but I wanted to make some ‘cloud tiles’ … So, I did.  And, tonight I cut those beauties up into future pendants: Here are the tiles going in, mapped out for …

Worker Bee … that’s me!

This week, anyway … We did our first murrini slab.  Hmmm … next time I’ll make a round one for a kiln drop (imagine custom pendant-style light shades – for my studio!). And, I’m still making component parts for future tiles/jewelry: I have a few ‘themed’ tiles in the works … rusty brown, ocean marina …

Studio update 2/24

We had our fourth vit pull last week.  I’m gaining some skills with ‘the stack’ and manipulating the temperatures … I’m hoping to try for some black/white/gray murrine next, maybe later today. We are building a decent collection of cane ‘flower bouquets’ … More than I will ever need for my original interest/intent; probably enough for …

We Did It!!!

We set our (4th) kiln up and had our first vitrigraph cane pull!  Yahoo!!! [So, yeah … it’s THAT kiln, the vitrigraph kiln … Which will forever be called ‘She Who Causes Broken Wing’ … I ❤ her!] We still have a lot of fine tuning to do – but – I’m happy!  Definitely having …
