Getting Stuff Done …

Slowly, but surely!  We did a bit of spring cleaning in the studio, as my packaging room was over-run with more boxes than I would ever need for shipping.  There is no before photo, but trust me – it was crazy out-of-control.  And, I tried to reorganize one of my storage/display shelves … There is …

Goodbye 2020 …

So, another catch-up post.  I’ve been missing in action because my alien baby, Hollis decided to come back (abdominal cellulitis) about 3 weeks ago.  I had daily visits to my Doc for antibiotic injections, changed up the oral antibiotics and I’m now waddling with a 5-6 month pregnant-look (improved).  Fun times! We managed a vitrigraph …

Love Those Date Nights …

So we made the soup last week – the creamy cabbage kielbasa soup.  It was delicious! And then I moved on to some studio cleaning and glass slumping.  I had a small mishap with my spoon rests, as it’s been ages since I re-applied kiln wash, so after ruining 3, I’m prepping those molds with …

Just a couple more days …

Even with less than cooperative Michigan summer weather, I’m having a great stay-cation.  I have a couple more days of ‘bumming’ before heading back to the ER this weekend …  In the meantime, we had our coe90 ‘carnival’ pull.  Here is the stack, with the resulting murrini and cane.    We had a family gathering …

Finally some pulling …

I cut some glass for a few vitrigraph pulls.  Tonight we did an aqua pull.  Here’s the stack, and the murrini results.   I also plan to do a repeat coe90 beige pull.  And I’m trying to recreate the coe96 Carnival pull, but in coe90 colors … We’ll see how well I did mixing the …

Busy Week … But, Not Done YET!!!

So, just to shake things up a bit this week, DH fully embraced a senior moment.  He gave Clyde his dose of naproxen, instead of Clyde’s dose of Zyrtec.  Meanwhile, I was cruising along at 80MPH, whistling a happy  tune in the studio  … And came to a SCREECHING STOP!  ‘You did what?’  Ninety minutes …

On The Mend …

I think we are finally getting well (no more URI-crud) and moving in the right direction, creativity-wise. I’ve moved my fun and colorful spoon rests along.  I have two more (coffin kiln) loads to go – but here’s the first batch.  These will need to go back into the kiln, another trip to the saw …

No Rest for the Elves …

Here at Clayton Hill.  It’s all good, I wouldn’t have it any other way! Tubby had her babies – 7 beautiful, healthy, fat pups joined our gang on Saturday. DH and I are smoothing out the process of providing 24/7 pup-watch coverage for mom and babies, while still getting chores and jobs done.  As it’s …

Et … VOILA!!!

Just like that – Thanksgiving is over; We had a recipe-FAIL; and I’m missing a decent portion of the tip of my thumb.  VOILA! For a hot second, DH was ‘proud’ of himself for pulling together Artichoke Spinach Pinwheels … the link shows you what they should have looked like.  Our version was HUGE, with …

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year …

We had our first snowfall this week (a semi-sticking kind, anyway).  I love snow (from inside a heated space!)!  So pretty … I’ve been keeping a couple of kilns busy for the last few days.  We’re keeping up with ornaments, one mini load at a time (which somehow makes it easier for me) … I …
