Welcome home and weekend wrap-up

The twins came home from camp … missed us so much they took 10 steps in the door, dropped their laundry and ‘stuff’ in the middle of the entry and plopped down on the couch in front of the TV … Are you kiddin’?  Not their best move … And then off to work I …

Heat wave … and other news

Got a reprieve from the electric company … maybe they felt bad for me?  With the kilns kicking, I’ve got to be a good customer, right?  Anyway – power’s back on as of Tuesday night!  YAY!!  I spent some time realizing I would not have done well in pioneer days … Up at 5am this …

They say the 1st is the toughest …

So true …  But – it’s finally done!  My glass mobile … After working through some production difficulties, and spending time learning the fine-art of beading wire (with my hand cramping up too many times to count!) … it’s hanging outside the  studio, catching some summer rays … (disregard the dead grass – the gardener …

Babies’ Birthday

Had some fun with the birthday kids (the twins) the other day.  I have my son convinced [and dreading the fact] that he’s getting a sewing machine and my daughter is getting a tow bar (a ‘man-gift’ … I panicked and that’s all I could come up with on the spot) for their birthday … …

The lists … now and later

Up at 5:30 this morning, armed with coffee and bagel … ready to plan for the ‘week’.  The twins (my babies) turn 14 this week.  And leave for camp this weekend.  So shopping and packing top the list.  Mattie’s babies are moving on to their new homes, Sienna’s babies will be heading out next week …

This week marks the one year anniversary of my Etsy shop … how time flies.  11,000 hits in this past year!  Wow!  I want to thank everyone for their interest in my little hobby! It makes for a fitting time to try to roll out my latest hobby (dye sublimation) as a shop.  I’ve collected …

Happy 4th of July … weekend wrap up

I received a major sublimatable shipment on Friday … even my daughter was saying I’d outgrown the studio … But, in the meantime, I did a little dye-sub before going to work this weekend … I now have a new flag welcoming [me] … And, we put my pretty flowers (MINUS mulch) to good use …

A houseful of stinkers!

That’s what I have, both the two and four-legged kind!  During our evening romp outside, I thought it might be nice to get some pictures of the dogs … NOPE – no one wanted to cooperate.  Yoda Kei – the biggest stinker of them all – is below.  He’s such a snot that he’s sporting …

The yard work is done (almost) …

For this year anyway … Each year I add to our growing gardens/flower beds/landscaping.  Since our house is in the middle of what used to be a hay field, I’ve had lots of planting to do.  In the first few years, I would surround the house with annuals – in pots, no less.  I quickly …
