In the dark …

Have been without power since Monday afternoon … This bites – but I’m trying to tell myself to see the adventure in it … Yeah, not so much. We are fortunate enough that we still have some power (enough to keep the refrigerators, water pump, and a few lights) thanks to a really loud generator …

Babies’ Birthday

Had some fun with the birthday kids (the twins) the other day.  I have my son convinced [and dreading the fact] that he’s getting a sewing machine and my daughter is getting a tow bar (a ‘man-gift’ … I panicked and that’s all I could come up with on the spot) for their birthday … …

The lists … now and later

Up at 5:30 this morning, armed with coffee and bagel … ready to plan for the ‘week’.  The twins (my babies) turn 14 this week.  And leave for camp this weekend.  So shopping and packing top the list.  Mattie’s babies are moving on to their new homes, Sienna’s babies will be heading out next week …

Ahead of the game … ???

Yes – for the moment:  Our weekly Neo pup photo-shoot is done (that’s a lot of photos!) email correspondence up to date studio clean and ready for the next project (no small task since I’m still receiving mail order packages) had a very good gripe session with my therapist/nail tech (… Thanks Jill!) – can …

Anniversary

This week marks the one year anniversary of my Etsy shop … how time flies.  11,000 hits in this past year!  Wow!  I want to thank everyone for their interest in my little hobby! It makes for a fitting time to try to roll out my latest hobby (dye sublimation) as a shop.  I’ve collected …

The yard work is done (almost) …

For this year anyway … Each year I add to our growing gardens/flower beds/landscaping.  Since our house is in the middle of what used to be a hay field, I’ve had lots of planting to do.  In the first few years, I would surround the house with annuals – in pots, no less.  I quickly …

Hibernation …

So … I seem to have fallen into a strange routine.  I’ve been sleeping 11+ hours on Mondays.  This is bizarre to me, as I typically function on 4-7 hours of sleep and then magically wake up, whether I want more or not … My only complaint is that I’m waking up at strange hours …

Week-DAY wrap up – Summer Birthdays ….

So, I had 5 kids today – as I casually pointed out to the husband … “you’re acting like a child!” – and he agreed !!  Alright buddy, what do you need?  A nap, a time out … what??? Meanwhile, we got through our photo-shoot with pups!  Some cute pics, despite  the ‘number 1 child’ …

Morning (after) news …

And so, the insomnia returns … It’s 3am.  The house is sleeping.  My studio is still 94 degrees, as the kilns are ramping down.  And I can’t sleep.  I’ve perused the ‘net, cleaned the studio, played with dogs and puppies, had a cocktail or two (or was it three … ???), and still – WIDE …

Morning news …

Woke up refreshed and renewed after sleeping 11 hours … now ready to embrace the ABCs of Life … Since I woke up at 630am (such an unnatural hour to wake up), I started working in the kitchen.  I made a batch of what I lovingly refer to as ‘Monkey Juice’.  What started out years …
