Minimal Adulting here …

I did some coloring this week.  That led to organizing my available markers, deciding which colors/color-families I wanted to grow … A wee bit of online shopping … (Umm, Mother’s Day is coming …)  More coloring and new stamps to color (I’m not too sure about that clown, but the witch and Frankie are pretty …

Yeah, so …

I’m taking this “NOT ADULTING” to a WHOLE new level… DH is cooking dinner – IF/WHEN he wants to eat;  I haven’t done laundry … in a REALLY long time;  I am stocking up on stamps and card making supplies – LIKE A BOSS(!!!);   I’m keeping the sisters fed and happy.  [Here’s Ro, soaking up …

Ahhh …

RELIEF!  Got through the annual tax date with our favorite accountant.  We really cut it down to the wire this year, finishing our sorting and tallying for the 3 businesses/4 jobs just 2 short hours before our appointment (with a 45 minute drive to make!)!  YIKES! After that painful deadline, I am so not ‘adulting’ …

New ‘art’ and other news …

I became (re-)obsessed with stamping, coloring and card making this week.  I know … It’s been a strange week! Ahem … back to card making.  I’ve reorganized those supplies, dusted off my stamp storage, dug in to my water colors, copic markers and distress inks.  So, yeah … MAYBE  I ordered a few more things.  But, …

My problem …

WHEN I’m willing to admit there may BE AN ISSUE … And, really – WHY bother diagnosing, if there isn’t any medication or treatment for ‘SAID’ symptoms … Anyway, I digress … My [‘ALLEGED’] problem may be that I read too many tutorials and discover new ideas well before MUCH NEEDED supplies can arrive. I am …

And, back to reality …

Paradise was … well ~ PARADISE!  A great sun-filled escape!  We arrived back to find our homestead still standing, all two and four-legged family healthy.  So, unpacked – but still sporting a bit of sunshine color, it’s time to get back into the grind. While I haven’t fired up my kilns yet, I do have …

Enameling–what NOT to do … and other news

Finally played with copper glass enameling last night.  I used the sifting method, and it wasn’t as easy as I thought.  It made me realize I prefer slightly larger ‘canvases’ … But, one very important lesson learned regarding what NOT to do:  Don’t drop that 1450 degree piece of red hot glass/metal, as you’re transferring …

Snowmageddon 2018

Michigan snowfall has postponed Christmas II (with Dad/et al.) … The predicted snow storm proved to be too much … So, while our tree is ready with gifts waiting, the menu set, the house prepared – we’re on hold, and watch the snow fall … Of course, now I’m doing it from my studio.  And, …

Cuz It’s THAT Time of Year!

Yep.  Time for a bit of ‘distraction shopping’.  I watched a few videos about copper enameling and PMC (precious metal clays) with glass … So, I’m  stocking up on what I need, waiting for some items to arrive and scouring through my books.  Hope to give this a try in the near future.  Meanwhile, it …

Excited, Sad – and a Celebration

I have lots of things going on in the studio.  I received a bunch of silicon molds for F-N-F fun … Along with a few new stencils to play with … And, a ‘dirty pour’ kit from UGC.  Time to bust out my kitchen torch … DH helped me change the stuck relay in my …
